Got around to Police Story 2 over the weekend. Another one I hadn't seen in a few years. Not as good as the original but still a very solid film. That finale in the fireworks factory is gold.

And man, the outtakes at the end, when Jackie cuts his head open and that other dude wipes the blood away - ouch. The things that these guys put their bodies through, it's insane.

I already pre-ordered this and I'm still waiting for my Takeshi Kitano 1/6 as well as my HEX Shaw Brothers figures to be released. Both are past their release dates.

Also those extras on the Criterion Police Story are pretty great. Started going through it all this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will get to the sequel in the coming days.

Irongod2112 got his copy of Criterion's POLICE STORY release and posted his thoughts here. He has really good news about the first film's audio:

The Eureka blu ray encode looks better to me but Criterion has it on the audio & subs side.

88 Films announced Canton Godfather is in the works.

This movie isn't very good but at least they managed to obtain the HK cut for this release as a bonus feature. Wish they could've also added the hybrid version from the Japanese Extreme edition with both the US/HK cuts with the Japanese credit sequence to make this flick more palatable.

88 mentioned that their upcoming Blu-ray of The Protector will have the HK cut and the US cut (though only the US cut will be from a new 2k scan).
