I watched the Unearthed disc last night and it looked and sounded good. I hadn't seen this in at least 20 years and I didn't really like it this time around. The tone is wrong and too often I was questioning the director's choices - a lot of them were dumb and childish and it was disappointing considering that Wong is really, really good in it and the climax is still just as shocking and harrowing as you remember (maybe even more so - I forgot how far it actually goes). I was tired when I started looking at the special features, but there's an 83-minute documentary on the history of Cat. III that seemed really good and I put the commentary on as I was falling asleep and it sounds very informative (from what I could tell, it seems to be dominated by Holecheck, who goes Tim Lucas-style with mucho info on everything). Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

I guess said director doesn't know what he's talking about. TAXI HUNTER was always CAT II. My old ex-rental HK VHS and VCD both say Cat II and so does the HKMDB.

Or what about Herman's Yau's ALL OF A SUDDEN? Officially a CAT IIB, but some DVDs promote it as a III.
