Not really interested in the cannibal guy's acting...but I AM interested in pretty much anything Sato does (Directed abiut 60 films..plenty of variety in there!!!!).not always great, but always worth a watch.

Interesting that Issei Sagawa is in this one.
Based on his last interview, I'm surprised he's not dead (suicide).
Anyway, always good to see a real life cannibal still working. That's about five or six shows to his credit now: THE BEDROOM, WEATHERWOMAN, the ridiculous Terry Itto doc, a few other things.
If it's any consolation, he's taken his eye off Euro women now and is zeroing in on women of his own ethnicity. Personally, I don't know why he didn't stick to Asian women in the first place. Would have saved a lot of bother for a lot of people. Oh, well, that's more Asian ladies for me. Thanks, Issei.
I'd love to see the above-mentioned Sato doc.
Fascinating that his latest is from the producers of LEVIATHAN, a doco I liked a lot.
Thanks, Takuma.

Dream of Eyeball (Hisayasu Sato, 2016)
Hisayasu Sato's second film for 2016 (the first one was Hana-Dama: Phantom). Curiously enough, this was produced by the directors of Leviathan (2012): Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Véréna Paravel. I recall reading (but can't find confirmation) that they filmed a documentary movie about Sato during the making of Dream of Eyeball.
Real life cannibal Issei Sagawa is in the film as well.
