Is it possible that the Eureka disc is cut due to violence imposed on a rubber rat? Haven't watched this in forever and don't currently have access to my old DVD, but it seemed like there is a moment where the head bad guy is getting ready to eat or "wring out" a rat, then they chastely cut away.

I checked my DVD and he just grabs the rat and puts it up to his mouth. It cuts away before he chomps on it.

Definitely up for picking these up, although my attempts to obtain a watchable copy of part 3 have thus far proved so cursed that if I buy it on blu-ray, I'll be half-expecting the disc to melt inside the player (don't ask).

Is part 4 aka 'Vampire vs Vampire' (the one with a Western-style vampire), or an entirely different film? I get confused.

It's a different one, I think it might be related to New Mr Vampire. Or maybe not, it's all bloody confusing.

SYNOPSIS

Mr. Vampire 1-4 are streaming on the Criterion Channel and the first three open with the Criterion/Janus logos (don't know why part 4 wouldn't have been included in the package with the other 3.) Hopefully when Criterion gets around to releasing these on disc they can included the Warner Brothers owned Mr. Vampire 1992
