  • Crazy Girls In Heat

    Released by: Alpha France
    Released on: June 2015.
Director: Claude Mulot (as Frederic Lansac)
Cast: Dawn Cumming, Helga Trixi, Najda Mons, Veronique Monod, Jacques Conti
    Year: 1976
    Purchase From TLA Video

    The Movie:

Directed by Frederic Lansac, this 1976 Alpha France film produced b y Francis Leroi is better known as The Kinky Ladies Of Bourbon Street in North American and in its homeland under the title Mes nuits avec... Alice, Pénélope, Arnold, Maud et Richard. Though not as well known as the director's infamous Pussy Talk (La Sex Qui Parle), this one is still a pretty popular title and upon revisiting it, it's not too hard to see why.

The film revolves around a fairly odd plot for an adult picture - a trio of women has each failed at taking their own lives and has since been thrown into a hospital essentially for their own good. Here a strange and mysterious woman named Maude (Trixie Heinen) shows up and offers the three ladies, who are all conveniently sharing the same room, a way out - come to her massive mansion where you can literally be loved to death!

How did they get here? Alice (Véronique Monet), a maid, is fired by her boss (Carmelo Pétix) after she's busted getting down with a guest (Richard Allan) at the hotel where she was employed. When her attempt to drown herself fails, she uses a stick of dynamite in a most unusual way! The second girl is a sexy chanteuse named Pénélope (Nadja Mons). She's used and abused by a DJ (Jean-Louis Vattier) in hopes that going along with his pimping and pandering will further her career. When it doesn't have the results she'd hoped for, she tries and fails to overdose on pills. When that attempt at suicide fizzles, she instead goes out in style after drowning in the evidence of pleasure left by three randy garbage men that she has an encounter with. Our last lady is Charlene (Dawn Cummings), a flight attendant who gets sacked from her gig after making out with a guy. She tries to kill herself with gas but it doesn't work she's instead given a right royal banging by Maude's chauffeur (Brendan Reed) who, after he's had his way with the poor gal, tosses her exhausted body into the pool…

The weirdest part of all of this, however, is the finale where we kinda-sorta figure out why Maude's been up to this strange activity in the first place…

In addition to the main encounters that actually drive the plot we get a great group grope session between all four of the female leads that takes place in a room decorated with giant penis paintings and white fur rugs - of course, the ladies are all dolled up in their finest French lingerie during all of this. In fact, the entirety of Maude's mansion is decked out in bizarre sexual imagery and what not - dildos are conveniently placed on the chairs for dinner and the candles are all ridiculously phallic. We also get a nice girl on girl scene that begins with an encounter between a woman and a banana only to evolve into something so much more, and a weird scene where a woman masturbates as slides of graves are projected onto the walls around her and on top of her. Throw in some graveyard masturbation that looks to have been shot in an actual cemetery, a surprise pegging scene, and more bizarre seventies fashions and décor than you can shake a giant purple decorative dong at and this one turns out to be a surprisingly engaging mix of wonderfully filthy smut and strange arthouse style. It's really well lit and beautifully shot and it features plenty of naturally beautiful women each of whom is able to deliver a pretty solid performance.

    Video/Audio/Extras:

Crazy Girls In Heat arrives on MOD/DVD-R in 1.66.1 non-anamorphic widescreen, which would appear to be the movie's original aspect ratio. The image is stable enough and black levels are pretty solid here. Colors look okay even if they do occasionally look shift a bit. There is a bit of visible print damage here and there and there are some minor compression artifacts throughout the presentation as well. This is a decent enough transfer despite its non-anamorphic status.

The disc includes an English language Dolby Digital Mono track but not alternate language or subtitle options. The dialogue is generally pretty clear and the track is free of any hiss or distortion but there's a weird reverb for much of the track that is distracting.

No extras on the disc at all.

    The Final Word:

Crazy Girls In Heat is a pretty great movie. The sex is plentiful, kinky and nicely shot and on top of that, it generates plenty of heat. This one stands out not for that reason, however, but because the storyline itself is so strange. Those who can get into the weirder, artsier side of vintage French smut would do well to check this out. It really is a bit of a classic.
