June 20, 2011 - Philadelphia, PA — Breaking Glass Pictures will release director Rania Ajami's debut film “Asylum Seekers” on DVD August 30 under the Vicious Circle Films label. The surreal dark comedy depicts six strangers competing for admittance into a luxurious mental asylum where only one empty bed remains.
Synopsis: Work, deadlines, family, terrorism, information overload ... As modern life pushes the world to the brink of madness, six strangers decide there's only one sane response: head through the door marked EXIT. It leads to a deluxe, exclusive, luxuriously-appointed mental asylum where a staff will wait on them hand and foot for the rest of their carefree lives. The problem? The asylum has only one vacancy. Now, the group of would-be patients will have to prove who among them is truly most deranged. Of course, not everything in the asylum is as it seems, and as the applicants turn themselves over for evaluation, they learn that the insanity has just begun.

“Asylum Seekers” boldly questions the ways society defines what is normal and what is not. Ajami takes the film's characters - and the audience - deep into the rabbit hole to a place where sanity is not an option.

June 20, 2011 - Philadelphia, PA — Breaking Glass Pictures will release director Tommy Brunswick's horror film “Exit 33” on DVD August 2 under the company's Vicious Circle Films label. The film stars genre legend Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees of the “Friday the 13th” series) as a backwoods gas station owner who captures and tortures a group of unlucky travelers.

Synopsis: A few miles off Exit 33 lies Ike's Last Chance Gas, an old, forgotten hideaway where the reclusive Ike pumps gas and practices his taxidermy skills. Though he might come across as a simple soul, Ike has a dark secret: he's obsessed with women who have enchanting eyes — eyes he wants to keep for himself. Now, as four friends make their way to their 5-year high school reunion, they all make the mistake of taking Exit 33, and they won't be making it back to the highway any time soon.

“Exit 33” is a no holds barred gore-fest that dares viewers to look away. With its unrelenting suspense and biting humor, it's a bloody throwback to slasher classics that will satisfy any horror fan's bloodlust.

DVD extras will include an actor commentary, an interview with Kane Hodder and deleted scenes.

June 20, 2011 - Philadelphia, PA — Breaking Glass Pictures will release director Faye Jackson's vampire tale “Strigoi: The Undead” on DVD August 2 under the Vicious Circl Films label. The dark comedy follows the quirky inhabitants of a Romanian village who learn that there are vampires among them.
Synopsis: After failing to start a life of his own, 20-something Vlad is forced to move back to his grandfather's old farming village in Romania. Though the village seems like a typical Eastern European haven, a mysterious death suddenly thrusts Vlad into the heart of a murder mystery. As he sets out to investigate, his trail leads him to the Tirescus — an ex-Communist couple who happen to be the richest landowners in town. Though Vlad is determined to confront the Tirescus, his quest takes a detour when he learns that the two bullies may be bloodsuckers in more ways than one…

“Strigoi: The Undead” puts an original twist on the vampire genre by introducing us to an ancient myth: Strigoi, the belief that people who've been wronged can rise again after death to seek justice and satisfy their thirst for blood. A deeply human take on an old horror story, this dark comedy explores the old world versus the new and delves into the heart of modern Romania.

DVD extras will include Jackson's short film “Lump” and a trailer.

June 20, 2011 - Philadelphia, PA — Breaking Glass Pictures will release the Thai horror film “The Coffin” on DVD August 30 under the Vicious Circle Films label. Based on a real-life ritual and shot partially on ancient Thai spiritual grounds, “The Coffin” was a box office phenomenon in Thailand, breaking records for highest grossing Thai film of all time upon its release.

Synopsis: Su and Chris are two strangers whose lives have been struck by tragedy — Su has been diagnosed with lung cancer just days before her wedding and Chris' longtime girlfriend has fallen into a mysterious coma. When they both learn of a bizarre Thai ritual in which a living person lies in a coffin to reverse bad Karma, they both decide to partake in a mass funeral for the living. Soon, their lives have turned around — Su's cancer vanishes and Chris' girlfriend awakes from her coma — but the good fortune is short-lived. A series of terrifying paranormal events suggests that Su and Chris may have upset the Karmic balance of the universe by cleansing themselves of bad luck, and the people closest to them may ultimately pay the price.

Director Ekachai Uekrongtham uses lush photography, darkly beautiful settings and nightmarish imagery to create a gorgeous and suspenseful horror masterpiece that Time Out Singapore calls “a scream gem.”

DVD extras will include deleted scenes, alternate footage, cast and crew interviews and the international trailer.
